The calculation unit in XTRF Platform is a predefined value used to recalculate the volume of work into the price, for example source word or target page. The calculation units are used to create rates for specific jobs in certain language combinations.
The set of the basic calculation units used in the localization business is available in the Home Portal. The following article shows you how to add a new calculation unit to your XTRF Platform.
Add a New Calculation Unit
To add new calculation unit, perform the following steps: In the Symbol field provide a unique symbol for the new calculation unit. The symbol appears after the value in all documents generated in the Home Portal. For example the % symbol for percentage. With the Type radio button select the type of the new calculation unit. Different unit types require different details which need to be provided. You may select: In the Exchange Ratio field specify the exchange ratio between the new calculation unit and the default system calculation unit. Default Calculation Unit For more information regarding the Default System Calculation Unit, please go to the: Configuring System Key Settings article, the Configure Your Default Settings section. (Optional) From the Bind with File Statistics drop-down menu select to which of the file statistic units, this new calculation unit should be connected. Advanced If you would like to bind the new calculation unit with a statistic unit not available on the list, click the Advanced link. The drop-down menu is replaced with the field where you can provide the precise expression. In the Time-to-Quantity Conversion Expressions field provide the rule for converting this new calculation unit to the time quantity unit used in the Home Portal. Click the Save button. You have added the new calculation unit in the Home Portal. Sign in to the Home Portal of XTRF Platform. Click the icon . In the accordion menu click the System Values: Advanced and then select the Calculation units. Click the +Add button. In the Name field provide a unique name for the new calculation unit. (Optional) Select the Active checkbox if this calculation unit should be available for use in your Home Portal. (Optional) Select the Preferred Item checkbox if this calculation unit should be located on the top of all drop-down menus and selection lists in your Home Portal. (Optional) Select the Default checkbox if this calculation unit should be used as a default one in your Home Portal. (Optional) In the Job Types mutli-selection field add job type(s) for which this new calculation unit should be available. Double-click on a job type in the Available Items list in order to add it to the Selected Items list.
