General Settings tab

Smart Connectors allow faster project creation for your clients. It is required to set up Smart Connector for each client separately.

While adding a Smart Connector to the Home Portal, you need to provide at least three fields to be able to switch between tabs:

  • The Name field,
  • The Client field,
  • The Scan for Input files section.

In the General Settings tab you can create and configure the Smart Connector for a given client.

Name fieldProvide the name of the Smart Connector in this field.

Client field

You need to specify for whom projects triggered by a given Smart Connector will be created. When you start typing the name of your client, the autocomplete function in XTRF Platform provides you suggestions from your client database.

One Client, One Smart Connector

It is required to configure separate Smart Connectors for each client.

Client Price Profile drop-down menu

The Client Price Profile entry is determined by the data from the Client's profile. In the client's price profile you can set up more than one price profile, therefore:

  • If there is only one price profile set up for a given client, this profile is selected automatically.
  • If there are more than one client's price profiles, you can select one of them from the drop-down menu.

Contact Person in the Smart Connector

The Smart Connector selects automatically the default Contact Person specified in the client's Price List. If there is no default Contact Person, the first Contact Person from the client's Price List is selected.

Files Aggregation drop-down menu

You can decide how the Smart Connector will handle files uploaded to the mapped folder. The Smart Connector can:

  • Process every top level file separately: The Smart Connector creates separate projects for each uploaded file.
  • Process files in batches: The Smart Connector creates one project for all the files uploaded to the mapped folder.
Scan for Input files section

You can select a folder on your local machine, an FTP or SFTP server or an e-mail address which the Smart Connector will scan for files.

File Directories

Depending on how you want to process your files, you can set specific directories for them. You can set the directories in every section to be the same or completely different. For example, you can set up an FTP server for the source files and the folder for the processed files on your local machine, therefore the Project Manager can have a look at them before they are delivered to your client.
