In the Main Data tab, you provide the essential details of the new project, including the project's unique name, customer and contact person and the user at your company responsible for overseeing its completion.  
Client

The client for whom the project is intended.

    • To select a client, begin typing his/her name into the field and select the client from the suggestions list. You can also choose a customer by clicking . When you click on this button, a window with the Client Browse appears.
    • To create a new customer, click . When you click on this button, you are taken to a new page. For a description of the page, click here: Client Create.

 

This field is mandatory.

Client Price Profile

The client's unique rates to be applied to this project.

Click on the drop-down list and select the price profile.

Client PO Number

The client's  Purchase Order (Customer Project Number). Clients own project number to be appended to the project.

Enter the information into the field.

Contact Person

The individual to whom the project's notifications and ready files are to be sent.

To include more contact persons, click More. Additional fields appear.

The individual to whom the project's ready files will be sent.

  • Click on the drop-down list and select a contact person.
  • To create a new contact person for this customer, click   . When you click this, a new window appears. For a description of the window, click here:  Contacts Management .

Additional Contacts

Any other individuals to whom the emails related to the project will be sent. An additional contact will also receive a copy of the notification about the project's ready files. 

Click the drop-down list and select a contract person. When selected, the contact person appears above the drop-down list:

    • To remove a selected item, click .
    • To add all available items, click Add all.
    • To remove all selected items, click Remove all.
    • To create a new contact person for this customer, click  . When you click this, a new window appears. For a description of the window, click here: Contacts Management - Customer .

This field is mandatory.

Project Template

A template containing frequently used information which can be applied to similar projects. After you create a template and later select it when adding a new project, the system automatically enters the information from the template.

Click the drop-down list and select a template.

To create a project template, go to Project > Templates.

Name

A unique name for the project.

Enter the text into the field.

Project Manager

The user at your company responsible for this project.

Click on the drop-down list and select a project manager.

Workflow

The specific workflow to be used for the project.

Click on the drop-down list and select a workflow.

To create a workflow, go to  Configuration > Workflows > Workflow Definitions.

Specialization

A qualification such as a knowledge of medicine or law terms required for an activity in the project to be performed.

Click on the drop-down list and select an item.

To create a specialization, go to  Configuration > System Values > Specializations.

Created on

The date when the project was created.

When you create a project, XTRF automatically enters the current date. If you want to set an earlier or later date, manually enter the date in the appropriate date format set in System Configuration or click  calendar  and select from the calendar.

This field is mandatory.

Start Date

The date when the project should begin.

Deadline

The date when the project should be completed.

Manually enter the deadline in the appropriate date format set in System Configuration or click calendar and select from the calendar.

Additional Fields

Supplementary information necessary for this project, for example, the date and location of a spoken translation.

To have the additional fields be visible, select the tickbox.

Additional Fields Project

 

Here you can enter extra information, such as when and where the event related to the translation will take place.
Place of Event

The location of the event related to the project.

Enter the text into the field.

Such information can be necessary for spoken translations.

Date of Event

The date of the event related to the project.

Manually enter the date in the appropriate date format set in System Configuration or click     calendar    and select from the calendar.

Categories

A classification to be applied to the project which can help a user when locating a project or creating a business report.

Click on the drop-down list and select an item. The category appears above the drop-down list:

    • To delete a selected item, click .
    • To add all categories, select Add all.
    • To remove all selected categories, select Remove all.

 To create a category, go to System > Configuration > System Values > Specializations.  

Click to create the project.

If you selected a project template and click this button, you are taken to Step 1: Set Values for Tasks and Receivables.

Click to terminate the project creation.
