License Agreement

The article presents the features available in the Premium plan of XTRF Language Business Platform. Please keep in mind that your access to the described options might be limited due to your license agreement. If you would like to change your plan of XTRF Language Business Platform and gain access to the additional features, contact your XTRF Customer Success Manager.

What Are the Services?

Services are a system value representing your translation process workflows in a marketing language. You can present them to your clients in the Customer Portal. For your clients the Services replace the workflows. What's more you can customize your services to meet the needs of a particular client. For a different client the same service could be configured in a way that it produces a different workflow. By default, Services and their names are a copy of your workflow definitions, but of course you can adjust the names according to your needs.

Services have been available in XTRF Language Business Platform from the version 2015 Winter.





Before Reading this Tutorial

  • The steps without any marking are mandatory to perform because they ensure carrying on a proper function of the Home Portal.
  • The steps marked with the (Optional) label give you information about settings useful for you in terms of fulfilling specific requirements for your projects, but if you skip them it will have no negative effect on the function of the Home Portal.





Add a New Service

You may add new service for your clients. To do that perform the following steps:

  1. Sign in to the XTRF Platform's Home Portal.
  2. Click the Configuration icon.
  3. Go to the System Values > Services
  4. Click the +Add button.
  5. In the Name field provide an unique name for the Service.
  6. Select the Active checkbox if you want the new service to be available for selection in Home Portal and Customer Portal.
  7. (Optional) You can make this service as one of your favorite services in the Home Portal selecting the Preferred Item checkbox. It is especially useful because this service will be presented at the top of the list while selecting.
  8. (Optional) You can add this service to the default bunch of the services defined in the Home Portal selecting the Default checkbox.
  9. From the Workflow drop-down menu select the workflow which will be provided in this Service.
  10. Click the Save button to save the new service. The Home Portal will take you to the Browse Services display.

To add a localized name to a service you need to edit the service.
  1. In the Browse Services display select the one you want to modify and click the icon.
  2. Click the Show Localized Names. The Localized Name appears on the list of values. 
  3. Use the the Add Localized Value button  to add a new localized name.
  4. The Add Localized Value pop-up window appears.
    1. From the Language drop-down menu select the requires language.
    2. In the New Value field provide the name of the Service in the language selected above.
  5. Click the Save button. The Add Localized Value window closes. The newly add name is shown in the Localized Name table.


The Services in Your Customer Portal

You decide which of your services are available to all your clients in the Customer Portal. Below an example of the request form in the Customer Portal.

  1. Sign in to the XTRF Platform's Home Portal.
  2. Click the Configuration button.
  3. Go to the Partner Management  > Customer Portal.
  4. Click the Edit button.
  5. In the Available Services you can select which services should be available in your Customer Portal.
    • Select the All Active Services Available checkbox if you want to share with your clients all your services with the Active status.
    • Deselct the All Active Services Available checkbox. The Available Services section expands to show the table with the Available (all active items in your Home Portal) and Selected (the items that are shown/displayed/available) Items . To move the items among the columns, use the buttons in the middle, or double-click on the item and it will be moved to the other column.
  6. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to confirm all changes made.

















The general settings for the Customer Portal's services may be overwritten by the Service settings in the particular client's profile. To learn more go here









Services in Your Client's Profile

Regardless of the services selected in the configuration of your Customer Portal you may select the list of services specially for a particular client. Moreover, you can modify the workflow behind the services selected for this particular client, to reflect your individual business arrangement.

  1. Sign in to the XTRF Platform's Home Portal.
  2. Go to the Clients module.
  3. Select the client in the Browse Clients display and click the icon.
  4. Select the Portal Settings tab.
  5. In the Available Services section deselect the Use default settings checkbox.
  6. From the Add new service menu select the services that you would like to provide to this client. The services are displayed with their default workflows. If you would like to change the default workflow of a service for a given client, deselect the Use default settings checkbox in the Available Workflows column. Now you can select from the drop-down menu which workflow will be preformed within this service for this client. You can make such matching for each service you have added for this client.
    To remove a service from the client's list, click the Remove button.
  7. Click the Save button on the bottom of the page to confirm changes that you have made.






By deselecting the Use default settings checkbox you may use the same service with different workflows for different clients.
